This notice explains what information the site uses, why it is used, and which service providers are involved.
Website delivery
Cloudflare provides hosting, security, content delivery, and ordinary technical request logs. Those logs may include an IP address, browser information, requested page, time, and security signals needed to deliver and protect the service.
Local browser preferences
The site may store user-requested settings in the browser, such as light or dark theme, reading position, or optional on-site history. These settings support the requested experience and are not used for cross-site advertising.
Purchases
When paid checkout is active, Paddle collects the buyer email, billing information, payment details, tax location, and transaction data as Merchant of Record. Read4Max receives verified Paddle customer and transaction information needed to confirm payment, create the purchased-book entitlement, provide access, prevent fraud, keep order records, and answer support requests. Read4Max does not receive complete payment-card details.
Support messages
When you contact support, Read4Max receives the email address and information you choose to include. Do not send payment-card numbers, passwords, identity documents, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
How information is used
Information is used only to operate and secure the service, provide requested reading functions, create and recover purchased-book access, send one-time access links, keep legally necessary transaction records, resolve refunds and support cases, and improve reliability. When paid access is active, the checkout email is stored encrypted at rest and a non-reversible keyed hash is used to locate the correct My Books profile. Read4Max does not sell personal data to advertisers, does not use a checkout email for marketing without consent, and does not use third-party advertising pixels.
Retention and choices
Browser preferences can be cleared through browser controls. One-time access links expire quickly and can be used only once; authenticated browser sessions expire and can be revoked. Purchase, entitlement, and accounting records are retained for the periods required for access recovery, transaction support, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Support information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the request and related records.
